We’re hiring a new Content Designer

We’re hiring a new content designer to join our growing, remote UK based team. We want to make the process as inclusive as possible, so here’s how we’re going to do it.
As a member of the team, you’ll work on:
- client projects across a range of sectors,
- running training courses,
- internal projects like our Content Design Club,
- raising our profile with relevant industry talks and conference appearances.
Pay and holiday
- Salary: £35,000 - £43,000.
- Annual training budget: £800
- Holiday: 28 days, as well as bank holidays, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
I’ve never understood people who didn’t show a salary. How will you know if you can afford to work for them? The salary for this role is based on your experience, and that’s it.
UK based remote working with some on-site work when necessary. Some travel may be involved.
How to apply
We don’t care what your previous job titles were. We care about what you can do. To apply, you’ll need to complete a test.
We recommend spending no more than 2 to 3 hours on the test. That’s so you don’t waste too much time if you don’t get the job. But if you want more time, take it. You do you.
Make sure you explain your thinking.
We’ll remove any personal information before it’s shared with the hiring team. This reduces the chances of bias. I don’t think we have any at CDL but that’s the thing with unconscious bias. It’s unconscious.
Why we test
There’s a lot of chat about testing and getting CVs. With CVs you can easily fall into a category of whether you’ve had the job before or not. We go with testing because content designers come from all backgrounds. Some don’t have any experience because people won’t give experience. That’s just daft. We just want the best people working here.
What we’re looking for
We’ll use set criteria to score your test. Here’s a hint: we’re looking for you to demonstrate your skills in content design.
If you do well on the test, we’ll ask you for a CV. If you’re successful at the CV stage, then we’ll invite you to an interview.
