Accessible Content

This 2-hour course explains how accessible content benefits all users. It will also help you to understand the legal requirements your organisation must meet for digital content. The course is streamed live from the UK.

Who it's for

You should have some experience writing and creating content, or work in a role related to content (for example, user research or product management).

What you'll learn

You'll learn about creating inclusive content that:

  • is accessible to people with conditions that affect vision, hearing and cognition,
  • fits the way people read online,
  • meets legal requirements.

Through discussion, real-world examples and exercises, you'll learn about the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and best practices for:

  • headings,
  • link text,
  • colour,
  • images and alt-text,
  • audio,
  • video.

Where and when the course happens

The course is taught online using Zoom. It starts at 4pm and ends at 6pm (UK time).

You'll need:

  • a good internet connection,
  • an up to date web browser,
  • a webcam.

How you'll learn

The session will be delivered online. It runs for 2 hours and we plan for:

  • 1.5 hours of presentation, discussion and exercises,
  • a 10 minute break,
  • a 20 minute question and answer session.
